Battledeck captivates PAX23

October 2023 saw the unveiling of Battledeck, our card and dice battle game, at Australia’s premier event for video and tabletop gaming, PAX23 (Penny Arcade Expo).

Over the course of three exhilarating days, more than 80,000 enthusiasts flocked to the Melbourne Convention Centre, transforming it into a vibrant hub of gaming excitement.

In the spirit of adventure our team embarked on a road trip in the Ghoulmobile, a journey that raised a few eyebrows as we wound along the Princes Highway on Australia’s south east coast. If you spotted a big furry yeti eating hot ships in Ulladulla, or wandering the streets of Eden – that was us!

Battledeck took centre stage at the booth of Tabletop Game Designers Australia (TGDA), an organisation committed to championing Australian tabletop game design, development, and commercialisation. For any aspiring Aussie game designer, TGDA offers an invaluable platform for networking and learning. The atmosphere at PAX23 was electric, with an amalgamation of sounds, lights, costumes, and games pounding the senses. Battledeck was incredibly well received, as we introduced it to a diverse audience of both enthusiasts and industry professionals. It was also an amazing opportunity to exchange stories and ideas with fellow game designers, providing a unique insight into the rich tapestry of creativity that defines this industry.
