Custom Backdrops

Living remotely is forcing me to be inventive whenever I need to produce things like product photography.

While looking for ways to shoot the Battledeck game I stumbled across a new business in Sydney called The Custom Backdrop Co. Their product offering comes in two parts – first, a pair of specially-made brackets, and second, a library of boards in a range of beautifully produced textures.

The brackets connect the boards perpendicular to each other, which allows product photographers to emulate all kinds of scenarios. High-end marble bench-tops, grungy aged concrete warehouse, and warm Scandanavian shelving, can all be achieved within the space of 5 minutes.

While they’re only prints of rustic brick, stone terazzo, burnt wood, Arabesque tile, and black marble, in camera these surfaces become indistinguishable from the real thing.

I ordered the brackets, Blue Fleck Terazzo, Light Grey Stone, and Speckled Finger Tile, and captured the shots shown on battledeck.ghoul.gg.
